Cobalt Property โ€” Year 2

Cobalt Property Group

Year 2 opens exactly where Year 1 closed.

Part 2 of 3 โ€” carrying balances forward

Continues directly from Part 1: every Year 1 closing balance becomes Year 2's opening balance, a new set of Year 2 transactions (a loan repayment, more inventory activity, a bigger dividend) layers on top, and the same PP&E keeps depreciating on schedule.

Retained Earnings is the clearest example of carry-forward: Year 2's Retained Earnings equals Year 1's ending Retained Earnings plus Year 2's Net Income minus Year 2's dividends.

Using the calculator

  1. Set the shared assumptions (PP&E Useful Life, Tax Rate) once.
  2. Fill in Year 1 and Year 2 transactions side by side in the two input columns.
  3. Confirm Year 2's opening Retained Earnings picks up exactly where Year 1 left off โ€” both years' Balance Sheets should show zero difference.
